HanStone's Leathered finish has a soft matte texture with a subtle, organic surface and a lower-gloss look than polished quartz. It adds depth and character, and the tactile surface is what draws most people to it.

Leathered surfaces behave differently than polished ones, and that's worth knowing before you choose. The textured surface catches light differently, so cooking oils and fingerprints can be more visible until wiped — most noticeably on darker colours. This is a characteristic of the finish, not a defect, and it has no effect on the durability or performance of the material.

Cleaning is straightforward, just different from polished. Because oils sit on the texture rather than smearing across a gloss, an emulsifying cleaner lifts them off easily — mild dish soap and water, Dawn Platinum Powerwash, or Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner all work well. Wipe, rinse, and you're done. Unlike polished quartz, Leathered doesn't require a final dry-buff to avoid streaking.
