The new $45 million expansion of HanStone Canada’s London Ontario manufacturing facility is going to deliver great benefits to its customers.
- MORE CANADIAN MADE QUARTZ SURFACES!
- HUGE TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS!
- FAST DELIVERY!
- INCREDIBLE VARIETY!
- NEW DESIGNS!
For one thing, the expansion will provide consumers with even more Canadian-made, higher-quality, lower-cost engineered stone-based surface products. New colours and patterns will be added to the 45+ designs already being manufactured, allowing the company to double its production capacity. The infusion of cash will also impact on the proprietary technologies utilized in the manufacturing process. The total expansion cost of $45.1 million will be divided between FedDev Ontario ($15 million), the Government of Ontario ($1.5 million), and Hanwha L&C Canada ($28.6 million). More than 85 new jobs will be created in London which will generate another 100 indirect jobs through spin-off employment that supports Canadian businesses in Hanwha’s supply chain.
Since 2009, Hanwha L&C Canada (the parent company of HanStone Canada) has been manufacturing stone-based surfaces under its HanStone brand in London, Ontario. Its products are marketed in well-known retail outlets across North America. HanStone is Ontario’s only manufacturer of quartz surfaces.
